Megan was born on December 12th, 1992 and died unexpectedly on Friday, May 23rd, 2014 due to an automobile accident.

She is survived by her loving parents, Julie and Ralph Orestad-Smith of Mount Vernon; her sisters, Susie & Cynthia Smith of Lake Port, CA; her brothers, Gage Bruce, Kyle Hall, Blake Smith all of Mount Vernon; Steven Smith of Lake Port, CA and Nicholas Brown of Des Moines, Iowa. She is also survived by two wonderful step-dads, Tom Bruce of Burlington and Kris Hall of Sedro-Woolley; grandparents, Susan Kizzire of Mount Vernon, Marvin & Alice Orestad of Sedro-Woolley and Donna O'Brien of Sedro-Woolley; aunts and uncles, Richard & Tosha Orestad of Surprise, AZ, Brian & Kim Orestad of Sedro-Woolley and Scott & Tessie Orestad of Sedro-Woolley; and her favorite cousins, Brittany, Tyler, Kylee, Isaac, Dorien and Magnus Orestad; also her beautiful niece, Bailey Brown and soon to be nephew, baby Jake.

She was preceded in death by her older brother, Jacob, in 2013.

Megan always put everyone else first in her life. She had a deep devotion to her family and friends. She just wanted everyone to be happy. She had a way to brighten even the darkest of days, with humor and a smile. She loved to do hair and make-up on her mom and friends. She loved music, dancing, singing karaoke with her family and going camping. She had such a love for animals, she would want to save them all.

Megan had a very special mother-daughter relationship. She was her mother's "Little Diamond". Now she will forever sparkle from heaven.

A celebration of Megan's life will be held on Saturday, May 31st, 2014 at 2:00 pm at Westview Elementary School, 515 West Victory Street, Burlington, WA.

In lieu of flowers, the family would request donations be sent to Hawthorne Funeral Home to help with funeral expenses.
