James Huff Jr. died at the age of 96 at his home where he lived with his son and daughter inlaw, in Wyoming. He died of natural causes. He had attended the University of Georgia, graduating in 1938 with a Degree in Journalism. He was fondly referred to as "Howard," his middle name. He had worked for the United Press and the Augusta Chronicle in Georgia, before the War. In 1940, he joined the Army during World War II. He was sent to Europe, for the D-Day Invasion. He landed on Utah Beach, leading a Platoon in combat for 21 days, before becoming wounded. He earned a Purple Heart and Bronze Star. After the War, he served in the Army Reserves, retiring as a Major. He also worked for Collins Printing Company. He eventually started his own printing Company in 1955, in Chamblee, Georgia...it was called Huff Printing Company. Him and his wife operated it for 35 years. They were active members of the Northwoods United Methodist Church and the Kiwana's Club in Chamblee, Georgia, where they resided for 55 years. He was an avid golfer and a fan of the Atlanta Braves and Atlanta Falcons. He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Dorothy Wiseley, and his wife of 71 years, Vivian Huff, plus a son, Lt. James Huff III. of the Navy. He is survived by: A son, Dr. Andrew Huff of Lander, Wyoming, also 7 grandchildren.
