Albert G. Winings, age 86, of 301 15th Street NW, Massillon, formerly of Carrollton, died Sunday in Massillon Community Hospital after a three month illness. Born July 18, 1900 in Harrison County, he was a son of the late Harvey and Mary Winings. He was a 63-year member of the First United Methodist Church of Carrollton, where he was former Sunday School superintendent and head usher for several years. He was retired from the former Carrollton Manufacturing Co. He was married June 6, 1923, to the former Pauline McIntire, who died May 4, 1982.
Survivors include four daughters, Mrs. Glenn (Lois) Marshall of Minerva, Mrs. James (Janet) Starrett of Massillon, with whom he resided, Mrs. Gary (Rita) Mandley of North Canton and Mrs. Bonnie Fletcher of Salem; one brother, Donald of Warren; one sister, Mrs. Vern Jones of Cleveland Heights; 15 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. An infant son is deceased. Services were Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. in the First United Methodist Church in Carrollton with Rev. Rodney Buchanan officiating. Burial in Grandview Cemetery. Calling hours Tuesday 6-9 p.m. at the Allmon-Dugger Funeral Home in Carrollton and one hour before time of service at the church Wednesday. Contributions may be made to the Memorial Fund at the First United Methodist Church of Carrollton.
