Hardy Bernard, his wife, a daughter and son-in-law that he lived with for at least 20 years are all buried in Decatur City Cemetery though no headstone has been found for any of them.

FORMER RESIDENT CALLED BY DEATH

Funeral services for H.T. Bernard, 86, of Elkmont, Ala, who died at 10:15 Friday at the home of his daughter, Mrs. B.S. Jamieson, will be conducted at 3 p.m. Sunday from Mrs. Jamieson’s residence, Rev. Sam Prickett in charge. Interment will follow in the City cemetery, McConnell of Athens, directing.

Pallbearers will be: Ira Warren, Homer Dunnavant, Carl Robinson, W.D. Jones Jr, Jesse Evans and Pierre Dawson.

Mr. Bernard was a former resident of Decatur where he was employed in the L & N shops before moving to Elkmont about five years ago.

He is survived by one daughter, Mrs. B.S. Jamieson and one son, Irby Bernard, Decatur, Illinois.
