The final rite for Louis Carl Mennenga, formerly of Huron, who died Monday at the Veterans Hospital at Omaha, is scheduled at 10 a.m. Thursday at the Weller Funeral Home. The Rev. Erling Erickson will officiate. Interment will be in Ideal Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home Wednesday afternoon and evening.
Mennenga was born April 8, 1929, at Harvey, N.D., the son of Louis C. and Margaret Mennenga. He moved to Huron in 1931. He served in the U.S. Army and Air Force from 1946 to 1953. In 1968 he went to Fremont, Neb.
Survivors include two daughters, Becky and Louise Mennenga, Haskell, Okal.; his mother, Mrs. Margaret Neuharth, Huron; five brothers, Herman Mennenger, Onida; Dennis Mennenger, Mobridge; Calvin Mennenger, Huron; Crtis and Lynn Neuharth, both in the U.S. Navy stationed at San Diego; two sisters, Mrs. Harry (Rita) Rasmussen, Doland; Mrs. Gary (Juanita) Eastland, Leesburg, Fla.
He was a member of the American Legion at Fremont.
