Bob dropped out of high school and spent 10 years in the US Navy - made RM1 (Radioman 1st class) during the Vietnam war-1962-1972; he passed his GED and earned a GI bill. He met & married his 1st wife (who also was in the Navy) Sep 16,1967.
He attended College @ Hutchinson Junior College-general studies/Chemistry - AA degree - 1973-75.
Wichita State University - Electrical Engineering Technology - BA degree - 1976-78.
He divorced his 1st wife and moved to Alabama to marry Suzanne in 1986.
He was step-father to Cindy Sutton, Dan Lancaster, Dallas Lancaster and Christine Knight, and ten grandchildren.
We delivered newspapers for the Hutchinson News, then the Wichita Eagle Beacon to supplement our income in addition to our GI Bill.
His first job after college graduation was at NCR in Wichita, then on to Boeing Aircraft-military; he then transferred to Huntsville, AL and stayed until retirement.
One last important deed was his acceptance of Jesus Christ as his Savior, asking forgiveness of past wrong doings and looking forward to being united in Heaven.
Bobby had many hobbies that included coin collecting, ham radio-K0AFH, photography and traveling. While he was still in the Navy he crossed over the equator and participated in the ceremony to become a shellback.
