Helen Loraine Blackner, 89, of Blackfoot, passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 24, 2014 at The Willows Care Facility in Blackfoot.

She was born October 14, 1924 in Twin Falls, Idaho the daughter of Edward and Lilian Shaefer Tinker.

Helen graduated from Twin Falls High School in 1941. Following graduation, she served in the Navy during World War II at the Naval Ordinance Plant in Pocatello.

She married Morgan Blackner and he preceded her in death on March 3, 2001.

She lived in Wyoming, Utah and settled in the Blackfoot area.

Helen worked as a secretary. She enjoyed camping at Wildhorse, Trail Creek, Bear Valley, Stanley and the desert.

She is survived by her children, Loraine Parr of Richland, WA, Celest (Ray) Abrams of Nampa, ID and Butch (Ranae) Blackner of Blackfoot, Idaho, six grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Morgan, and sister, Lucille Maloney.
