SIXTY YEARS MARRIED.-A somewhat usual family re-union was held at the residence of Mr. John Beattie, in this town, on Dominion day. The object of the gathering was to celebrate the sixtieth anniversary of the marriage of Mr. and Mrs. Francis Scott, of Seaforth. There were represented four generations. The aged couple were present, and were among the most blithe and cheerful of the party. All the surviving children of Mr. and Mrs, Scott were present. These are: Mrs. James Hogg, McKillop; Mrs. John Beattie, Seaforth; Mrs. E. Thynne, Chicago; Mrs. Dr. McDonald, Michigan; Dr. Scott, Robt. and Andrew Scott, Seaforth; George Scott, Toledo, and Francis Scott, Bluevale. There were also several sons and daughters-in-law, besides a host of grand and great-grand- children. Mrs. John Grieve, of McKillop, who is now 87 years of age, and who was bridesmaid for Mrs. Scott, was also in attendance, and is still hale and hearty. Mr. Scott is now 85, and Mrs. Scott 77 years of age. It is needless to say that it was a joyous, happy gathering. The services of Mr. Henderson, photographer, were brought into requisition, and a group photograph of the family, and also a photograph of the whole company, were taken. We are sure that Mr. and Mrs. Scott's many friends will unite with THE EXPOSITOR in congratulating them on this unusual and auspicious event, and in wishing them many more years of health and happiness, and that they may be permitted to spend many years yet together, a comfort to each other, and a joy to their numerous friends.
