Donald E. Beard, 57, of Pittsfield, died at 8:40 pm Wed, Oct. 28, 1987 in Illini Community Hospital in Pittsfield. Mr. Beard was born Dec. 15, 1929, in Pittsfield, a son of Ed and Florine Ruble Beard. He married Nettie Garman Aug. 15, 1954, in Pittsfield. She survives. Mr. Beard served in the Army during the Korean Conflict and was a self employed bulldozer operator. He retired from Panhandle Eastern Pipeline in 1977. He was a member of Pittsfield American Legion Post 152 and the Pittsfield Fire Dept. Services will be conducted at 11 am Sat. at Niebur Funeral Home in Pittsfield by the Rev. Earl Clagg. Burial will be in Pittsfield West Cemetery. Military services will be conducted by the American Legion Post 152.
