Barbara Stahlheber Peters was born March 27, 1927 in Geary, OK to Henry Walter and Agnes Lillian (Dillon) Stahlheber, and went to her maker Saturday, December 1, 2012 at the Geary Nursing Home in Geary, OK at the age of 85. Her school years were all in Geary and she graduated in 1945 as Valedictorian of the class. She entered the P.E.O Sisterhood in May of 1945 and served every chair several times. Her higher education was at OU and OSU. She and the love of her life B.J. (Beege) Peters were married May 12, 1946, and three daughters Janice Kay, Linda Lee, and Debra Ann were born to the union. Beege, Barbara, and the girls attended the First United Methodist Church in Geary where Beege and Barbara had been married. They farmed for nearly 60 years on land his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. W.T. Peters bought from the Indians in 1897 and is still in the family. Beege and Barbara moved into Geary after their daughter, Linda and Lon bought the home place. Barbara lost Beege in 2007. When she began to have trouble getting around she moved to a retirement home in Weatherford, OK the Sterling House. Her last years were spent enjoying friends and family and looking forward to the visits from all of them.

Barbara had lost her parents, Henry and Agnes Stahlheber, husband, Beege Peters, one son-in-law, Jr. Billion, and grandson, Mark Kitson.

She is survived by three daughters, Jan Billion of Watonga, OK, Linda Mathews and her husband Lonnie of Geary, OK, and Debra Jelinek and her husband Frank of Golden, MO; eight grandchildren, 16-great-grandchildren; 2-great-great grandchildren, and many other relatives and friends.
