Robert S. Foote, 92, a Wilkes-Barre resident and former city clerk, died Thursday in Valley Crest, Plains Township.
Mr. Foote was born in the former Miners Mills borough, son of the late John B. and Sarah (Adams) Foote. He graduated from Coughlin High School, Wilkes-Barre, and the Wilkes-Barre Business College. He was an Army Air Corps veteran of World War II and had been a chief warrant officer at Fort Smith, Ark. He had been an administrator with the City of Wilkes-Barre for 42 years and retired as city clerk in 1972. He also operated an antique business in Tunkhannock for many years. He was a pianist and played at several area nursing homes. He was "Volunteer of the Year" at the former Leader East Nursing Home for some time. He attended the Parsons Primitive Methodist Church, Wilkes-Barre, and was preceded in death by sisters, Mrs. Mildred A. Ayers and Florence Foote; brothers, William L., Stanley G., Joseph, and John Foote.
Surviving are several nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be Saturday at 10 a.m. from the H. Merritt Hughes Funeral Home Inc., 451 N. Main St., Wilkes-Barre, with the Rev. Dr. K. Gene Carroll, pastor of Parsons Primitive Methodist Church, Wilkes-Barre, officiating. Interment will be in Mt. Greenwood Cemetery, Trucksville.
