Kenneth Hiram Carruth, 57, of Spring, Texas passed from this life on Thursday, May 22, 2014, in Leesville, Louisiana. He was born October 25, 1956 in Alexandria, Louisiana.

Kenny grew up in Alexandria, Louisiana. Kenny married Karen M. Tison on August 12, 1978 and they had one daughter, Ashley.

Kenny had spent many years in maritime service. Kenny had a wonderful sense of adventure. He loved good food, being with friends, listening to Christian music and believed strongly in the power of gratitude. His greatest love and interest was his family.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Annie Merle Barker, maternal grandparents H.O. and Annie Merle Barker and paternal grandparents, W. A. Carruth, Sr. and Beulah Ella Banks Carruth.

He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law; father and wife; seven sisters; one brother; eight grandchildren; mother of his daughter; a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.

Services celebrating his life were Wednesday, May 28, 2014, with Pastors Anthony Mangun and Terry Shock officiating at The Pentecostals of Alexandria, 2817 Rapides Avenue, Alexandria, LA 71301. Burial follow at Greenwood Memorial Park, Pineville.

Services were under the direction of Hixson Brothers Funeral Home, Alexandria.
