Born on December 16, 1940 in Lebanon, Lebanon County, he was a son of the late Charles E., Sr. and Bertha (Heck) Fidler. On March 10, 1989, he married Zelda (Laird) Fidler, who preceded him in death on April 12, 2005.
He is survived his children Rosemarie Zimmerman and her husband Jed, of Thompsontown, Sherry Hemperly, of Harrisburg, Heather Gill, of Pittsburgh, siblings, Blanche Guthridge, Betty Fidler, both of Lewistown, Gladys Garloff, Edward Fidler, both of Lebanon, Gail Adair, of Port Royal, 8 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.
Three brothers, Paul Fidler, James Fidler, Roy Fidler and one sister, Joann Landis, preceded him in death.
Charles was employed as a truck driver for Aumiller Salvage, Halifax and later by Zimmerman Truck Lines, Mifflintown. He enjoyed hunting and was a self-taught home mechanic.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, May 29, 2014 at 10:30 am from the Brown Funeral Homes, Inc., 100 Bridge St., Mifflintown with the Rev. David Landis officiating. Interment will follow in the Maitland Cemetery.
A viewing will be held from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service, May 29, 2014 at the funeral home.
