Martha Lynch was born June 23, 1918 to Walla Walla pioneers Cornelius and Dorothea Aden Lynch. She graduated from St. Vincent's Academy and attended Walla Walla Business College.

Martha married Clement Cejka in St. Patrick's Church on November 19, 1937. In 1941, they moved to Kennewick. They had a family of six children and sixteen grandchildren. Surviving Martha are daughters Doris (Robert) Smith, Marilyn (Robert) Brown, Christine (Stephen) Povalac, and sons Christopher and Mark (Cheryl) Cejka. She is also survived by grandchildren Ann, Robert, Paul, Peter, David and Kenneth Smith, Michael, Linda and Douglas Brown, Fran Mack, John Povalac, Catie, Lindy, Collin, Nicholas and Sydney Cejka, and 18 great-grandchildren.

Martha was a member of St. Joseph's Parish. She was active in the Altar Society, Legion of Mary, and the Parish Council at St. Joseph's. She also enjoyed Campfire Girls and the Booster Club for Kennewick High School. Her hobbies were gardening, knitting, crocheting, and painting, but most of all she enjoyed her children and grandchildren's activities. She was famous in the Tri-Cities for the number of sporting events she could attend in a day! She was a WSU Coug fan, a Mariners enthusiast and a Gonzaga basketball follower. Martha was sharp as a tack up until the day of her passing; if we needed information on anything that happened in the past, we always asked her first!

Martha died surrounded by members of her family on September 7. Martha was preceded in death by her son Vincent in 1961, her husband Clement in 1991, and two brothers, John and Maurice Lynch.

Visitation will be on September 12 from 5:00 to 8:00 pm at Mueller's Tri-Cities Funeral Home, 1401 South Union and the Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be held there at 7:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Joseph's Catholic Church on September 13 at 1:00 p.m. Concluding services and interment will follow the mass at Desert Lawn Memorial Park, Kennewick. A reception at St Joseph's Dillon Hall will follow immediately thereafter.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Joseph's School Scholarship Fund, 520 South Garfield, Kennewick, WA 99336.
