Bernice LaTour, of Porter, died September 11, 2001, at Porter Memorial Hospital in Valparaiso. She was 73.

She was born, January 6, 1928 in Paragon, Ky., the daughter of Cleveland and Eva (Fraley) Morris, who preceded her in death.

She is survived by her husband William LaTour, of Porter. Her first husband, Virgil L. Johnson preceded her in death in 1991.

She is also survived by two sons, James "Army" (Sharon) Armstrong, of Kouts, and Virgil Lee Johnson Jr, of Porter; two daughters, Linda (Andrew) Pazera, of Westville, and Diane (Don) Brison, of Valparaiso; three brothers, Edward (Mavis) Morris, of Roann, Ind., Eugene Morris and Adron (Josephine) Morris, both of Clearfield, Ky.; eight grandchildren and one great grandchild.

She was also preceded in death by a brother, Gilbert Morris, three sisters, Effie Ginter, Christine LaPratt and Eileen Morris and one grandchild.

She was a resident for 49 years and an operator at Faircraft Engineering. She also was a member of Lighthouse Christian Center.

Funeral Services, Rev. Kevin Birky officiating, are scheduled at 11 a.m., Friday, Sept. 14, at Edmonds & Evans Funeral Home. Interment will be at Chesterton Cemetery.

Visitation is scheduled from 4-8 p.m. today at Edmonds & Evans Funeral Home, 517 Broadway, Chesterton.

Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association or to the American Diabetes Association.
