Adrian C. Eckroth Sr., formerly of Orange Street, Berwick, passed away Tuesday, May 20, 2014. More recently he resided in Absecon, N.J., with his niece, Isabel, and her husband, Norman Wescoat, for the past 24 years. He was raised by his grandparents, the Rowlands.

Born Oct. 17, 1932, Adrian was the son of the late Thomas Henry Eckroth and Mary Elizabeth (Rowlands) Eckroth of West Wyoming. Adrian enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps and was a Transportation Specialist.

Upon returning to Pennsylvania, he worked at the Consolidated Cigar plant in Berwick, along with Whitebread Trucking. He also worked at Danville Elks as a bowling lanes mechanic. After moving to Absecon, he worked at the casinos as a slot machine mechanic and in maintenance at a school until his retirement.

He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus and Berwick fire department. He as actively involved with Berwick Little League in the 1960s and 1970s as head umpire, which he enjoyed more than anything saying the kids needed him and his crew! He enjoyed returning home for Berwick football on Friday nights, casino trips with family, hunting and camping.

He is survived by two sons: Adrian Jr. and his wife, Kim Sands, of Ocala, Fla.; Kevin of Berwick; one daughter, Donna, wife of Dan Crispell, of Berwick. There are seven grandchildren: Carly (Eckroth) Hendry of Dallas, Texas; Ben Eckroth of Baltimore, Md.; Matthew Crispell of Berwick; Jarred Crispell of Edison, N.J.; Erin Crispell of Berwick; Sean Eckroth of Berwick; Sabrina Eckroth, Berwick; and his companion, Bonn Davis.

His burial wishes were no funeral services and cremation.
