PROMINENT IN REAL ESTATE AND INSURANCE CIRCLES, WAS 52 YEARS OLD
Walter B. Hartshorn, aged 52 years, died on Saturday afternoon at 2:00 o'clock, after a lingering illness of pernicious anemia.
Mr. Hartshorn was one of the best known men in the county and for years successfully conducted an insurance and real estate business with offices in the Ovitt block.
The deceased was born in Alliance Ohio, in 1869 and attended the public schools in that city. In 1889 he came west, settling in Waukesha. A short time after taking up his residence in this city he entered the insurance and real estate business in which he was interested until his death. His parents, Dr. and Mrs. Hartshorn later came to live with their son, but returned to alliance before their deaths.
In 1893 he married Miss Lula Wright, who alone survives him. About two years ago his health began to fail and he spent a winter in Florida in the hopes that the climate might be beneficial to him.
The deceased held several prominent positions in the city and was for several years city comptroller. He was a member of the Masonic order and the Elks, and was an ardent supporter of the Presbyterian church.
Funeral arrangements have not been made.
