CLYDE RODNEY LIBBY

LINCOLN – Clyde Rodney Libby, 81, husband of Gladys (Scott) Libby, died Aug. 20, 2006, at his home. He was born Oct. 10, 1924, in Lincoln, the son of Alvah and Josephine (Mott) Libby. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the Army with Battery D, 110th Anti Aircraft Artillery Mobile Gun Battalion. He was an avid hunter, and loved fishing and camping with his family and friends. He was co-owner of Libby's Grocery Store for a number of years, and was self-employed most of his life. He also ran Libby's Live Bait for many years. In addition to his wife, Gladys "Scottie" Libby, he is survived by two daughters, Jan Marie Moulton and her husband, Herbert, of Lincoln and Mary Jean Haslam and her husband, James, of Hancock; five grandsons, Darius Jonason and his fiance, Patricia Barrett, of Rockland, Mick, Alex, Randy and Billy Moulton, all of Lincoln; a stepgranddaughter, Jessica (Haslam) Smith and her husband, Justin, of Fort Benning, Ga.; a great-granddaughter, Hailie; a brother, Floyd of Lincoln; numerous nieces and nephew; a sister-in-law, Hildred Scott; and a brother-in-law, Kenneth Budge, both of Springfield. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by four sisters, Beatrice Libby, Lottie Sweet, Irene Bailey and Hilda Washburn; and four brothers, Leon, Robert, Arthur and Vernon, all of Lincoln. At his request, there will be no viewing hours or funeral. A graveside service will be held at a later date at the Lincoln Cemetery. Those who wish may donate in his memory to a charity of choice or to the Lincoln Lakes Region Dialysis Center. Arrangements with Clay Funeral Home, 7 Lee Road, Lincoln.
