Robert K. "Flap" Boyd, of Littlestown, departed this life January 13.

He was the son of the late J. Arthur and Virginia Lemon Boyd.

Mr. Boyd was a Littlestown High School graduate. He served in the Navy during the Korean War. He was a short order cook in his parent’s restaurant, Boydie’s Restaurant, in Littlestown, for many years and was also employed with the U.S. Postal Service in Littlestown as a mail carrier. He was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, F.O.E., V.F.W., and the American Legion, all of Littlestown; the McSherrystown Home Association, Blue Ridge Sportsmens Association and National Rural Letter Carriers Association.

He was the husband of Shirley E. Brown Boyd for 50 years and surviving, in addition to her, are two daughters, Susan M. Walter, of Toms River, NJ, and Laura A. Rodriquez, of Buck, NJ; two sons, R. Christopher Boyd and James D. Boyd, both of Littlestown; six grandchildren; one great-grandson, and two brothers, Charles H. Boyd and Richard E. Boyd, both of Littlestown.

He was preceded in death by two sisters, Mary Lou Gullickson and Dorothy Pippin, and two brothers, James Donald "Bill" Boyd and Levere Boyd.
