George Albert Brumfield was born in China Grove, Pike County, Miss. (location is presently Tylertown area of Walthall Co.) In his twenties (about 1884) George traveled to New York to attend Bellevue Hospital Medical College, where he studied Allopathic Medicine to become a physician.
He married Ophelia Crain on Sept. 30, 1886. Ophelia was 6 years younger than him. Places where George Albert served as a medical doctor included Holmesville, 1916; Knoxo, 1918 and Tylertown, 1923, Ms. George and Ophelia had a large family of children, which was confirmed by the census and records, below.
George died July 28, 1929, in Jackson, from "Parenchymatous Nephritus." He was 69.
