Emily Leathers was born July 17, 1899 in Winsborough, TX. She was the eleventh child of fifteen children bor to the union of Dee & Helen Leathers. In the early 1900's Dee & Helen moved the family from Texas to a small country town in Oklahoma called Tullahassee. It was in Oklahoma where Emily received her formal education. As with most young women, Emily's interest eventually turned to love and that interest was with a young man named Ike Myers. To their union a boy was born, Quentie L.C. (who preceded her in death). Emily moved to Tulsa, OK for a better environment for her son. Emily then met Jeff Thompson, and to their union was born a daughter, Dorothy Mae. On Tuesday, Febraury 10, 1998, Emily Leathers departed this life to join her Lord & Saviour, God in Heaven. She was the very last member of the original Leathers family. Emily leaves to cherish he loving memory, her beloved & devoted daughter, Dorothy Mea Smith, he only granddaughter, Annetta Harper, three grandson's, Harold Myers, L. Rahmaan (L.C. Jr.), & Michael Rahmaan, fourteen great grandchildren, and one special grandson, Dee Bowen; twelve great great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, cousins, & a host of relatives & devoted caring friends.
