Mrs. Ruth Townsend Ridgway, age 95 of Griffin, passed away on Monday, May 19, 2014 at her residence.
Mrs. Ridgway was born in Elberton, Georgia on August 26, 1918. She is preceded in death by her parents, Berry Townsend and Arnie Attaway Townsend; husband, Lamar Harrison Ridgway; children, Connie Ridgway Barrow and Darwin Lamar Ridgway.
Mrs. Ridgway was employed by Lanes Drug Store, By-Wise, and Smith Roberts for over 40 years. She loved gardening and cooking.
Survivors include daughter, Linda Ridgway of Griffin; grandchildren, John and Lyndsey Barrow of Sharpsburg, Conn and Emalee Barrow of Colorado, Senta Diane Ridgway of Arizona, Paul Lewis Ridgway of Maryland; great grandchildren, Hollie and Lee Stanley of Fayetteville, Noah Barrow, Ashley Barrow, Ethan Barrow, and Faith Barrow; great-great grandchildren; Triston Barrow, Brailin Barrow, Skyler Barrow, Selah Barrow, and Ashton Stanley; sister-in-law, Peggy Townsend of Griffin; nephew, Tom Townsend of California; niece, Charlotte Webb of Elberton.
Graveside services will be conducted on Friday, May 23, 2014 at 2:00pm in Oak Hill Cemetery. Reverend Greg Marsh will officiate.
