Johnny Lee Barnett, Sr., 57, of Front Royal, Virginia, died Saturday, May 17, 2014 in the Winchester Medical Center.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, May 21, at 8:00 p.m. at Maddox Funeral Home with Pastor Steve Guizar, officiating. Interment will be on Thursday at 1:00 p.m. at Panorama Memorial Gardens at Waterlick.
Johnny was born September 27, 1956 in Grundy, son of the late Ron Keith and Maddie Logean Barnett.
He was a U.S. Army veteran and a member of the Front Royal Church of the Nazerene. Johnny had worked for Northern Virginia Drilling.
Surviving are his loving wife Lori Barnett; two daughters Elizabeth "Beth" Barnett and Sarah Barnett both of Front Royal; two sons Eric Barnett of Strasburg and Johnny Lee "Jay" Barnett, Jr. of Front Royal; one brother Timmy Barnett of Front Royal; five grandchildren Ashton Barnett Clegg, Rylee Barnett, Noah Barnett, Elijah Barnett, and Lillian Barnett. Johnny was also survived by his faithful and dedicated dog "Biddle".
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister Linda Sue Barnett.
Pallbearers will be Eric Barnett, Jay Barnett, Frank Barrientez, Adam Ball, Win Smedley, and Corey Smelser.
Honorary pallbearers will be Timmy Barnett, Will Smedley, and Michael Haymaker.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, May 21 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
