Mrs. Nancy Phillips, wife of George Phillips, the well known mail contractor, who died at the residence, North Spy Run avenue, yesterday at 10 o'clock a.m., after suffering three years from a complication of diseases, was aged sixty-eight and four days. In the early days her husband drove a stage coach while his wife kept a tavern at the east end of Columbia street. Mrs. Phillips was known for her hospitality, but during the past few years, in her declining years, she has lived with her husband on a farm north of the city in Washington township. She was the sister of the late Christian Parker, deceased, and was a woman highly esteemed and respected.
The funeral of Mrs. Nancy Phillips will occur Sunday at 10 a.m. from the house, and later on at the Parker grave yard.
