Lillie Dobbs Coffey was born November 30, 1910 at Worley Hill Top to Thomas and Julie Jones Dobbs and departed from this life Tuesday, September 19, 2000 at her old home place on Rattlesnake Ridge.

Funeral services will be held Friday, September 22, 2000 at 2:00 p.m. at the Cherokee United Baptist Church in Stearns, Kentucky with Bro. Wayne Inman, Bro. George Allen Coffey, and Bro. Rick Cox officiating. Burial will follow in the Sherd Dobbs Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the family home in Stearns on Thursday, September 21, 2000 after 4:00 p.m. and on Friday, September 22, 2000 until funeral service time.

She joined Wolf Creek United Baptist Church in 1923 and moved her letter to Cherokee United Baptist Church in 1966 in which she was a charter member.

She was united in marriage to John Herbert Coffey on November 23, 1933. To this union 10 children were born. Surviving children are Daniel Coffey and his wife, Wanda of Strunk, Kentucky, Wanda Coffey Burke and her husband, Hall of Stearns, Kentucky, Lois Coffey Koger and her husband, Wendell of Muncie, Indiana, Elsie Coffey Gregory and her husband, Dick, of Muncie, Indiana, Kenneth Coffey and his wife, Mable, of Marshes Siding, Kentucky, Kelly Coffey and his wife, Janet, of Muncie, Indiana, Bob Coffey and his wife, Janice, of Stearns, Kentucky, and Doris Coffey of Stearns, Kentucky.

Her husband, John Herbert and two sons, Lloyd William and Dallas precedes her in death. Also preceding her in death are two sisters, Mary and Bessie, three brothers, Sherdie, Parker, and Josh.

She has 20 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren, and one great, great grandchild.

She has three sisters, Esther, Dora, and Edith all of Stearns, Kentucky, and one brother, Jobe of Stearns, Kentucky.

She leaves a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends to mourn her passing.

She was a loving mother, granny, and a great friend to all that knew her.

Hickman Strunk Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
