Civil War Veteran. Maine Volunteer Infantry. He enlisted when he was 21 years old. He was a part of the 1st Regiment, Maine Heavy Artillary, Company E. He mustered on August 21, 1862 as a Corporal and made sergeant in 1863, first sergeant in 1864, second lieutenant in June 1864, and was mortally wounded at the Battle of Petersburg, Virginia and died in Campbell Hospital in Washington, DC.
