Ezekiel "Chicago" Smith, born Christmas day 1844 Dunganon County, Tyrone, Ireland to John and Jane Hazelton Smith, died Monday home here. 1845 family to Ontario, Co. Canada near Godrick on Lake Huron. 15 became orphan. Became master finisher in plastering doing capitol building in many states. 1887 to near Maceline, back to Chicago. 1879 in Chicago wed Mary Goldring who died in 1894. 2 children, Mrs. Luella Harvey died in 1898 Chicago; Alce Chase of Hollywood, CA. 18 Apr 1896 wed Ella Donaldson of Lockport, IL. 4 children Ernest Donaldson, and Georgia Dorthea of Marceline; Agnes Hazelton McDavitt, Schenectady, NY and Newcomb Carlton of Henderson, KY. 1908 back to farm. Also left grandchildren, Ernest D. Smith Jr. and Doris Smith, Marceline; William Donaldson and Jane Hazelton McDavitt, Schenectady; Dorothy Lou Smith, Hnderson, KY; sister Anna Spear, St. Joseph; brother Joseph, Cleveland, OH ; half-sisters Miss Lizzie and Belle Stout, Godrich, Ontario, Canada. Burial Mt. Olivet.
