Services for C. Clifford Adams, 92, of East Moline, are 11 a.m. Wednesday at First Baptist Church, East Moline. Burial is in Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline, where East Moline American Legion Post 227 and VFW Post 2056 will conduct military honors.

Visitation is 5:30-7:30 p.m. Tuesday at Van Hoe Funeral Home, East Moline. Memorials may be made to his church.

Mr. Adams died Saturday, July 5, 2003, at Illini Hospital, Silvis.

He was born Feb. 20, 1911, in St. Louis, Mo., the son of Albert and Kate (Crume) Adams. He married Virginia Birkhead Aug. 23, 1947, in East Moline.

He served in the United States Army Air Forces Aircraft Warning Signal Company in the South Pacific for 31 months.

Mr. Adams retired from the shipping department of John Deere Harvester in 1973.

Cliff was a member of East Moline American Legion, UAW Local 865 Retirees, and had served as a deacon and sung in the choir at First Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Virginia; sons, Robert, East Moline, and Kent, Champaign, Ill.; three grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a sister, Lois Graves, East Moline. He was preceded in death by two sisters and two brothers.
