OBITUARIES

SARKIS NAHIGIAN

FRESNO- Funeral services for Sarkis Nahigian, 53, of Mill Valley, Marin County, were held on September 7 in the Holy Trinity Armenian Church, Masonic services were conducted at graveside in Ararat Cemetery.

Mr. Nahigian died on September 7 [*see note] in his shoe store in Mill Valley. A native of Armenia, he came to Fresno in 1914. He moved to Kingsburg in 1919 and to Dos Palos in 1940. Last year he moved to Mill Valley.

He was a member of the Dos Palos Masonic Lodge and was also a member of the Holy Trinity Church.

Surviving are his widow, Sophie, two sons, Kenneth and Edward, and a daughter, Mrs. Sonia Williams, all of Mill Valley; his mother, Mrs. Serma Nahigian of Kingsburg; two sisters, Mrs. Julia Paul and Mrs. Gladys Apkarian, and a grandchild.

The Yost & Webb Funeral Home had charge of the arrangements.

[Note: It's not likely Sarkis died and services held on the same day as the obit. says. According to SSDI he died on 3 September, which would be more probable.]

SARKIS NAHIGIAN
