Mrs. Bernice Hanks, 75, 909 15th St., Rock Island, died Wednesday at St. Anthony's hospital.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at Wheelan Funeral Home, Rock Island. The Rev. Charles Hollis, Moline Gospel Temple, will officiate. Burial will be in Rock Island Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 2 p.m. today.
Bernice Barnhard was born in Meta, Mo., the daughter of Witten and Sarah Barnhart.
She married Elmer Helton in 1912 in Meta. He preceded her in death in 1926. She later married Herbert Hanks, July 4, 1928, in Vienna. He preceded her in death in 1962.
Mrs. Hanks was employed at the Arsenal during World War II. She was a member of the Moline Senior Citizens.
Surviving are two sons, Virgel Helton, Rock Island, and Clay Helton, Downey, Ill.; a daughter, Mrs. Marie Maloney, St. Louis, Mo.; 11 grandchildren; a brother, George Barnhart, Kansas City, Kans., and a sister, Mrs. Pearl Salmon, Kansas City, Mo.
She also was preceded in death by 10 brothers and sisters.
