WHEELER, JOHN THOMAS, "TOM," 78, of Louisville, passed away July 12, 2005, at VA Medical Center.
He was a native of Warren County, KY and a US Army veteran of World War II. He was a retired heating and air maintenance man for the Executive West Hotel.
He was a former lightweight boxing champion and boxing trainer at 28th and Main Streets, where he trained young boys aged seven years and older, including Muhammad Ali and James Ellis.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Ruby White Wheeler.
Cremation was chosen.
