Leo Caudle, 75, of Dyersburg, Tenn., died July 3, 1980 in the Baptist Hospital in Memphis, Tenn., after a short illness. He was the brother of Clinton Caudle of Steele and formerly operated grocery stores in the New Survey community and also in Steele.
Mr. Caudle was married to Nina Fisher of Dyersburg. They were planning to celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary in October, 1980.
He leaves his wife, Nina; a daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Hart of Dyersburg; a brother, Clinton Caudle of Steele; three sisters, Mrs. Thelma Moody of Dyersburg, Mrs. Minnie McCrum of Orchard Lake, Mich., and Mrs. Clara Haas of Port Austin, Mich.; one granddaughter, Nadira Hart of Dyersburg.
Funeral services were conducted at the Curry Funeral Home Chapel in Dyersburg July 5, 1980 with Rev. Joe Naylor and Rev. Guy Merriman officiating.
Pallbearers were former Mayor David Lanier; Judge William Hammett, Wink Hollingsworth, Raymond Kent, and former sheriffs, John Cribbs, Sr., and J.B. Rodgers.
Burial was in Zion Cemetery with Curry Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
