LAST RITES FOR MRS. ELSIE ALLEN OF SPENCERVILLE
Funeral services for the late Mrs. Elsie Allen, age 39, of Spencerville were held Saturday afternoon at the residence with Rev. Frank Stevenson, pastor of the Lutheran church in Spencerville, officiating. Burial was made in White City cemetery at Spencerville.
Mrs. Allen had had heart trouble for a number of years and she died Tuesday afternoon at the Sanders hospital in Auburn.
Mrs. Allen, a former Auburn resident, was born December 26, 1905, to Mr. and Mrs. John Sherwood. She was a member of the Lutheran church at Spencerville.
Surviving are the husband, Vaughn, and three children, Imogene Allen and Dorothy Burns at home, and Robert Burns, who is in the military service; one half brother, Clarence Mills of Los Angeles; one half sister, Mrs. Imogene Dilgard of Waterloo; two brothers, Cleo Sherwood of 320 1/2 West 15th street, Auburn, and John Sherwood; five sisters, Mrs. Edna Baird of Waterloo, Mrs. Hilda Baird of Wolcottville, Mrs. Nellie Carteaux of Fort Wayne, Mrs. Pauline Hovarter of Corunna and Miss Blanche Sherwood of Fort Wayne.
