Floyd C. Huff, 68, of Gettysburg, died Saturday, Jan. 21, at the Gettysburg Hospital.
Born in Adams County, he was a son of the late Lawrence and Nellie Miller Huff Sr. His first wife, the late Helen Sponseller Huff, died in 1970. He is survived by his 2nd wife, Joan Wintrode Huff.
He was a self-employed carpenter and served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
He was past president and a life member of the Barlow Fire Co., a member of the Adams County Firemen's Association, a chairman of the Mount Joy Township planning commission and zoning board, and a life member of the National Rifle Association. He had served as director of emergency management for the Township.
In addition to his second wife, he is survived by one daughter,Bonnie Thompson of Bendersville; five brothers, Lawrence "Jim" Jr., and Spencer, both of Gettysburg, Paul, of New Oxford, Earl of Thomasville and Larry Huff of Sumter, S.C.; three sisters, June Harman and Marion Hockensmith, both of New Oxford and Namcy Yingling of Gettysburg; two grandchildren; one great grandchild; and nieces and nephews. he was predeceased by one sister, Janet Huff.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, Jan. 24, at 10 a.m. at Little's Funeral Home, Littlestown, with the Rev. Stephen L. Hastings, pastor of St. James United Church of Christ, officiating. Interment will be in Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens, Gettysburg.
