Peter E. LaClaire, 79, of 606 W. Third St. died Tuesday evening in Lee Memorial Hospital after a long illness. Born in Fort Covington, N.Y. he lived most of his life in Fulton. He retired from Columbia Mills in Minetto in 1967, after 15 years of employment. He also served in the US Army from 1925-1928. He was a communicant of the Church of the Immaculate Conception. Surviving are his wife, Margaret DeAmbrose LaClaire, four daughters, Janet Hart, Dorothy Spiegel, Patricia Erb and Beverly Parkhurst, all of Fulton; three sons, Peter Jr. of Camden and George and Richard LaClaire, both of Fulton, two sisters, Florence Morris of Massena and Elsie LaClaire of Adams, and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins. Services will be held Friday at 10 a.m. from the Young and Son Funeral Home where the Rev. William J. Brown will officiate. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery. Calling hours are Thursday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
