Ola (Snow) Belcher, 94, Meadowbrook Lodge Nursing Home, Independence, KS, passed away Thursday, August 31, 1995, at Mercy Hospital. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, September 5, at First Christian Church of Independence, KS, with Rev. Jeff Knighton and Barbara Jones officiating; interment in Mount Hope Cemetery, Independence, KS. Friends may call 12 noon-4 p.m. Monday, September 4, and again after 8 a.m. Tuesday. Mrs. Belcher was born January 12, 1901, in Willow Springs, MO, the daughter of Roscoe and Elizabeth Rader Snow. She moved to Independence in 1909, left in 1921, and returned in 1940. She was married to C. P. Belcher in 1924, in Kansas City, MO, (they later divorced). She was a graduate of Montgomery County High School and Olson Business College. She was a retired comptometer operator for ARCO Pipeline Company in Independence. She was a member of the G.T. Garden Club, Business and Profes - sional Women (BPW) Reviewers, Loyal Berean Sunday School Class, Christian Women's Fellowship and Guild. She was a member of First Christian Church. Survivors include four daughters, Mary Lou Benson, Chanute, KS, Helen Elliott, Guatemala, Virginia Jones , Kansas City, MO, Norma Baxter, Tucson, AZ; a son, Dr. George Belcher, Independence, KS; a sister, Katherine Mahaney, Coffeyville, KS; 26 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren.
