One of two daughters born to Corp. Theodore Leonas Carter and Flora John Leach, she was raised in the McMillan Township of Marion County SC. She married William L Hinson, a farmer from York County SC around 1897, and they had a daughter, Flora May. She died of pellagra and was buried in Elmwood Cemetery on Dec 31 1923.
