James Morris Warner, age 89, of Lumberton passed away on Wednesday, May 7, 2014 at Southeastern Health in Lumberton.

He was born in Bladen County, NC on February 24, 1925. He served his country in the European Theater in World War II in the United States Army and then worked for Preferred Electrical & Wire Corporation as a salesman. He was a Mason and a Sudan Shriner. He also enjoyed his time fishing at the beach.

Mr. Warner was preceded in death by his parents, Alexander Livingston Warner and Elouise Register-Warner; his wife, Kathryn Beck-Warner; a son, Stephen Craig Warner; sisters, Ernestine Clark, Bobby Warner, and Edna Gray Miller.

He is survived by a son, Robert "Mickey" Warner of the home; brothers, Sidney Warner of Pinehurst and Eric Warner of Lisbon; sister, Janet Warner Cain of White Lake; a grandson, Jason Paul Brinkman; and a host of nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held at the Floyd Memorial Chapel with Rev. David Hawes officiating. Burial will follow in Meadowbrook Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Shriners Children's Hospital, 2900 Rocky Point Drive, Tampa, FL 33607 or Godwin Heights Baptist Church, 704 Godwin Avenue, Lumberton, NC 28358.
