Ernest's parents are buried at two different cemeteries. His mother is buried at Modrel Cemetery, Martin County, Indiana, and his father is buried at Stafford Cemetery, Greene County, IN. Find A Grave Memorial# 17015405.

John was buried in the Stafford Cemetery, . ... Modrell Cemetery was closed due to the Crane Naval Weapons take over by the time of his death, which was in January of 1946. Like many families in the area, John was forced to sell his farm in Martin County to Crane Naval. He moved to Lyons in Greene County in 1914 and his funeral was held at the Lyons Christian Church.
