Ruben Burwell Anderson Sr was born 1801 in Wilkes County Georgia. He married Sarah Sally Wisdom, daughter of John Wisdom and Sarah Fuller 25 Nov 1822 in Clarke County Alabama; Sarah was born 1797 in Hillsboro, Caswell, North Carolina USA.

Their children were adults; married and settled in their own lives by 1858. Ruben resettled to Spanish Fort in Baldwin County Alabama where he established a farm.
