Wilma Louise Ramsey Tarlton, 85, of Cross Plains, formerly of Brownwood, passed away Thursday, Jan. 5, 2006, in San Angelo Community Hospital. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 7, at Davis-Morris Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jim Senkel officiating. Interment will follow at Cross Cut Cemetery.

Wilma was born in Davis, Okla., to the late John Dewitt and Anna Elizabeth Hollobaugh Ramsey, and was the last of 12 children. On June 26, 1942, she married Dr. Adrian L. "Bud" Tarlton in Norman, Okla. She was active in Brownwood ABWA, Texas Chiropractic Auxillary, Thursday Afternoon China painting, and Zephyr Quilting Club. She was a member of the Cross Plains United Methodist Church and the Disciples Sunday School class. Wilma graduated from St. Anthony's Nursing School in Oklahoma City in 1942 and continued nursing at Brownwood Medical Arts, Baylor Hospital in Dallas, and retired from Brownwood Regional Hospital after 45 years of service.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years.

Wilma is survived by her daughter, Sherrian Conway and husband, Ron; grandchildren, Brian Carter and wife, Rhonda, David Carter and wife, Tammy, Rick Conway and wife, tommie Lee, Wendy Fagg and husband, Travis, Sean and Justin Conway; ten great-grandchildren as well as many nieces and nephews.
