Arthur was born on his grandparents' Indiana farm, and he grew up in both Chicago, IL, and Pontiac, MI. His first marriage to Martha Copple in 1948 produced four children. Arthur was a printer his entire life, retiring in 1994 from the California State Printing Plant. He traveled the world with his second wife and was an avid hiker, bicyclist, cross country skier, reader, and home improvement maestro. Survived by his wife Sally; his children Cindy, David, Dan, and Nancy; six grandchildren; his sister Barbara; and his brother Archie.
