AGED WOMAN, ILL 5 DAYS, DIED FROM SLEEP SICKNESS
The first case of sleeping sickness in this section proved fatal to Mrs. Elizabeth Eberhardt, who passed away Saturday at her home four miles west of Lodi. She had been asleep for five days.
The deceased was a native of Russia, and was aged 79 years, 11 months and 6 days. She was the wife of Adam Eberhardt Sr. and mother of Mrs. Mm Werner of Canada, Mrs. Rodaker of Lodi, John Eberhardt of Florin and Adam Eberhardt of Lodi. The remains are at the parlors of O.H. Wells and the funeral arrangements are awaiting the arrival of relatives from the east.
