Alice Marie Blankenship, age 88, of White House, TN died on May 9, 2014 at the Skyline Medical Center in Nashville, TN.

Alice was born March 19, 1926 in Mt. Vernon, KY to Letcher and Mary Orton West.

Alice worked many jobs throughout her life, but her most important role was as co-owner with her husband Jim of Acme School Supply Company in Nashville for 25 years. She was a member of Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church.

She is survived by her beloved husband of 54 years, James D. Blankenship; son and daughter-in-law, Jerry and Brenda Bean of White House; daughter and son-in-law, Harolene Lee and Rick Chopyak of Scottsdale, AZ; several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her daughter, Lana Adams; two brothers, James and Robert West; two sisters, Norene Perciful and Hazel Chance.

Funeral service will be at 1:00 p.m. Monday, May 12, 2014 at Austin & Bell Funeral Home, White House with Bro. Delwyn Fryer officiating. Interment will follow at White House Memorial Gardens.

Visitation will be held Sunday, May 11th from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and again one hour prior to service on Monday.
