R. V. Alexander, 71, of Hodge died Friday, March 26, 1999, in Lincoln General Hospital in Ruston. Services were held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, March 28 in Edmonds Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Rob Van Fossen and Dr. Clyde Myles (Meyers) officiating.
Burial was in Garden of Memories under the direction of Edmonds Funeral Home of Jonesboro. Mr. Alexander was a longtime resident of Hodge. He was a member of Highway Chapel Church of God and was a retired school bus driver and appliance repairman.
Survivors include his wife, Helen Alexander of Hodge; four sons and daughters-in-law, Barry and Renee Alexander of Ashburn, VA, Bruce and Debbie Alexander of Quitman, Donnie and Sandi Alexander of Corpus Christi, TX, and Mike and Lois Alexander of Quitman; two daughters and son-in-law, Denise Gaines of Hodge and Rebecca and Tim Norman of Quitman; two brothers, Everett Alexander of Jonesboro and John Alexander of Quitman; three sisters, Linda Evans and Avis Gaines of Quitman, and Joyce Hall of Choudrant; eighteen grandchildren, and fourteen great grandchildren. Pallbearers were Josh Alexander, Kevin Alexander, Jacob Gaines, Landon Perry, Joey Rodgers, and Rodney Waynick.
