Her mother died in 1897 and, with six siblings younger than herself, Ina assumed the role of housekeeper. She married to Harry Leroy McMillin on 2 October 1907 at Ottumwa. They made their home at Keokuk where her husband was a farmer. Ina and Harry were the parents of two daughters, Ruth Emeline McMillin and Louise Abigail McMillin.
