Walter Eugene Wren, 67, of McComb, MS died May 8, 2014 at Southwest Mississippi Regional Medical Center in McComb.

Visitation will be Sunday at Jones Family Funeral Service from 5:00 until 7:00 PM and Monday from 10:00 AM until services at 11:00 AM at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Hollywood Cemetery. Bro. Ray Ratcliff and Bro. Thomas Taggert will officiate. Jones Family Funeral Services in McComb are in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Wren was born on June 19, 1946 in Tylertown, MS. He was the son of Melvin Wren and Quida Mulford Wren.

He was a member of New Harvest Church of God of Prophecy in McComb. Mr. Wren was in the U.S. Army and received a purple heart, the national defense service medal, two bronze stars, the Vietnam service medal, republic of Vietnam campaign medal and one 0/S bar. He worked for flowers baking company for about 35 years in Jacksonville, FL after retirement he moved back to his home town in McComb.

Mr. Wren was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Paul and Luther Rand.

Survivors include his wife, Maxine Stafford Wren of McComb; one son, David Wren of McComb; one daughter, Kelly Thompson and husband, Bruce of Jacksonville, FL; one sister-in-law, Marie Rand of Seminary, MS; two brothers, Glen Wren and wife, Darlene and Roger Wren all of McComb; one grandchild, Ashley Wren and numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends.
