Beatrice Ratcliff was born on September 13, 1913 and passed away on May 8, 2014, eight months after she turned 100 years old. She was born in Ozark, Arkansas to Dennis and Minnie Childers, the first of four daughters, Maribelle, Jeanne, and Lee. She graduated from Russellville, Arkansas, High School. Bea lived in several towns and cities in her lifetime, but spent most of her life in Hot Springs, Memphis, and Little Rock. She married Ralph Waldo Ratcliff in 1945, and was widowed in 2000. They retired to Hot Springs in 1984, and she moved back to Memphis in 2002 to be with her remaining family. She was the mother of Shannon Ratcliff Williams (Warren), and the grandmother of Justin Williams and Taylor Williams (Natalie). She was step-grandmother to Kim Fyfe (Trey), and Shea Williams (Jennifer); and step-great- grandmother to Mac Fyfe, Maggie Fyfe, Walker Williams and Luke Williams. Bea worked as a bookkeeper for many years, and spent her last 18 years of work as bookkeeper for the Four Flames Restaurant in Memphis. Her hobbies included sewing, embroidery, quilting, and reading. For the last 12 years, Bea has lived at the Lutheran Village Retirement Community. Her final residence was the Kings Daughters and Sons Nursing Home in Bartlett. Bea's sweet and gentle manner will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Graveside funeral services will be held at Crestview Memorial Park at 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 10, 2014.
