Mrs. Welsh, 79, Fair Play, died Monday at Parkview Healthcare Facility in Bolivar. She was one of five children born in Spokane to Millard and Cloris Moore.

After her graduation from the Spokane High School, she worked for five years at Lilly Tulip in Springfield. She married Wayne Welsh on Nov. 27, 1957, and they celebrated their 54th wedding anniversary before he preceded her in death Aug. 14, 2012.

The couple lived on a farm where she enjoyed working in the garden, canning produce, cooking meals for the hay crews and helping in the field and with the livestock. She also enjoyed reading and bird watching. She attended Eudora Baptist Church.

Also preceding her in death were her parents, brother, Roger Moore, and sisters, Wanda Mahony, Mary Scott, and Linda Dunn.

She is survived by her son, Kevin Welsh and companion, Cindy Garner, and her son, Samuel Garner, all of Fair Play; stepson Clayton Wayne Welsh and wife Lanette of Walnut Grove; stepdaughter Lynne Ann Crader and husband Dan and their family of Moscow Mills; granddaughter, Julie Proctor and husband Brian; grandson Travis Burns; great-grand-children, Michaela and Haleigh Burns, Waylon, Kylee, and Rylynn Proctor; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Memorials are suggested to the Shady Grove Cemetery Association.

Graveside services are at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, May 8, at Shady Grove Cemetery, south of Fair Play, under the direction of Murray Funeral Home, Bolivar, which is holding an open visitation Wednesday.
