ST. GEORGE, Utah - Harriet "Pauline" Jones Andrus Anderson, age 76, passed away Wednesday,
December 10, 2003, at the Dixie Regional Medical Center in St. George, Utah. She was born November 14, 1927, in Shelley, Idaho, to Lee Albert and Zina Berniece Stringham Jones. She married Merrill Allen Andrus on May 3, 1946, in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. Merrill preceded her in death on May 24, 1971. She then married Donald Allred and they later divorced. She married Charles Victor Anderson on July 6, 1990, in the Logan LDS Temple.
Pauline was raised in Lewisville, ID, and she graduated from Rigby High School. After her marriage to Merrill, she attended Ricks College. Pauline has lived in Rexburg, ID, Franklin, ID, and Shelley, ID. Pauline was an excellent salesperson and sold World Book Encyclopedias for several years. She later worked for the Ricks College Book Store from 1968-1977.
Pauline was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served a mission in Louisville, KY, from 1977-1979. For several years, Pauline lived in Corning, CA. While living there she served as an ordinance worker in the Oakland LDS Temple and as a Stake Primary President.
Pauline enjoyed flowers and reading. She was well known for her fruitcake. She was a very loving and caring individual. Her grandchildren adored her.
She is survived by her husband, Charles Victor Anderson, of St. George, UT; daughter, Paula A. (Evard H.) Gibby, of Kimberly, ID; son, Leslee A. (Cindy F.) Andrus, of Rexburg, ID; daughter, Denice (David Leslie) Udy, of Challis, ID; 16 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; Victor's children, Dennis (Gloria) Anderson, of St. George, UT, Steven (Gretel) Anderson, of Las Vegas, NV, Craig (Laura) Anderson, of Lake Point, UT, Karla Anzalone, of Enterprise, UT, Brent (Brooke) Anderson, of Buena Vista, VA, and Connie (Collin) Broughton, of Alamogordo, NM; 23 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Merrill Allen Andrus; and a grandson, James A. Andrus.
Funeral services will be held Monday, December 15, 2003 at 11:00 a.m. at the Morningside LDS Stake Center, 881 S. River Road, St. George. Family and friends may call Sunday, December 14, from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Spilsbury & Beard Mortuary, 110 S. Bluff St., and Monday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services at the Stake Center.
Interment will be held Tuesday, December 16, 2003 at 2:00 p.m. at the Sutton Cemetery in Archer, Idaho.
